Program Information

The ESL program in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies reflects York University's commitment to students across all faculties, both domestic and international, for whom English is not a first language. We offer six credit and nine-credit first year courses as well as a second year course. These courses focus on English for Academic Purposes in the context of Canadian topics and issues. They are designed to help students develop the knowledge and skills required to participate fully in academic life at York University and succeed in their programs. The first year courses fulfil English as a second language requirement the General Education Humanities requirement.
